Upo n the ruins of four old empires\, a dozen or so new countries appeared and almost all borders were redrawn\, often in course of continued military c onflicts\, which lasted even until 1923. After having suffered very high l osses\, the region started rebuilding and modernising efforts. A New Europ e was established.\n\nThe outdoor travelling exhibition created by the Eur opean Network Remembrance and Solidarity focuses on these turbulent years. Over 200 archive and multimedia materials – pictures\, maps and films tog ether with individual stories of people who lived back in these times – pr esent a complex yet coherent picture of New Europe established in Central- East part of the continent after the Great War. The exhibition\, developed together with experts from over a dozen countries\, depicts the aftermath of the First World War and the first five years after its end. The end of the war started a significant period in the 20th century\, which shaped a ‘New Europe’ with new emerging countries\, social and economic changes an d novel political ideas. The history of Europe is brought together by film \, photographs\, maps and individual human experiences\, and presents our visitors the complex history of the post-war transformation of the contine nt\, which shaped the region till this day.\n\nThe exhibition will be open for visitors for free every day.
