DESCRIPTION:Eighty years after World War II\, the ways we remember and teac
	h about it continue to evolve. As witnesses grow fewer\, the need to engag
	e younger generations becomes more urgent.\n\nThis two-day event will brin
	g together academics\, practitioners\, and memorial site representatives t
	o address the war’s lasting consequences and the challenges of remembrance
	. Through keynote lectures\, panel discussions\, film screenings\, and wor
	kshops\, participants will explore effective strategies for teaching about
	 World War II\, particularly its difficult and traumatic histories. Discus
	sions will also examine how different European memory cultures shape publi
	c understanding of the war and its aftermath.\n\nPart of the international
	 campaign WWII – 80 Years After\, organized by the European Network Rememb
	rance and Solidarity (ENRS)\, this event serves as a platform for dialogue
	 on keeping World War II’s memory relevant. Professionals will share best 
	practices for engaging students and the wider public with this pivotal his
	tory.\n\nThe program includes a keynote on shared trauma and diverging his
	torical narratives\, followed by discussions on the war’s ongoing impact. 
	A special film screening and debate will highlight innovative educational 
	methods\, while hands-on workshops will equip educators with tools for mem
	orial site visits and using personal stories in history lessons.\n\nHeld i
	n Bucharest\, Romania\, sessions will take place at the Romanian Academy H
	all and Academy House. Participants can also join an optional historical t
	our of Bucharest\, offering deeper insight into the city’s past.
