DESCRIPTION:Teachers and educators from Bulgaria are invited to apply to th
	e seminar “Learning from the Past - Acting for the Future”\, organized by 
	The Olga Lengyel Institute for Holocaust Studies and Human Rights (TOLI) i
	n partnership with the American University in Bulgaria\, and Shalom Organi
	zation. This event is open to educators of all disciplines who are motivat
	ed to engage with topics related to Holocaust\, human rights\, and intercu
	ltural education.\nGrounded in an interdisciplinary approach\, the seminar
	 combines methods from Holocaust education\, human rights education\, and 
	intercultural education with the aim to:\n● Develop teachers’ critical und
	erstanding of antisemitism\, the Holocaust and other instances of social i
	njustice\n● Develop teachers’ understanding of the impact of stereotypes\,
	 prejudices and discrimination at individual\, group and society level\;\n
	● Develop teachers’ understanding of the Jewish life before and after the 
	Holocaust\;\n● Increase appreciation for innovative\, student-centered tea
	ching methods\, including extra-curricular activities and partnerships bet
	ween school and other institutions and organizations\;\n● Promote an inter
	disciplinary approach to Holocaust\, human rights and intercultural educat
	ion\;\n● Develop teachers’ competences for democratic culture.\nFollowing 
	the seminar teachers will receive support to put their learning into pract
	ice\, run local projects with their students and engage in collaborative i
	nitiatives with fellow TOLI seminar participants from other countries.\n\n
	● Cost: All seminar costs are covered\, except for travel\, which particip
