DESCRIPTION:This panel is hosted at the CISH Centennial Conference in Leipz
	ig (26–30 August 2026). It  aims to develop a reflective and critical fram
	ework for exploring diverse narratives and methodologies in history teachi
	ng\, with a focus on colonial and decolonial perspectives. It seeks to exa
	mine how European colonial histories are presented in education and emphas
	izes the importance of critically engaging with these narratives. Inspired
	 by contemporary anti-colonial movements and decolonization epistemologies
	\, emerging trends in history education aim to challenge pro-Western viewp
	oints\, deconstruct dominant narratives\, and promote pluralist approaches
	 to knowledge and teaching. This panel offers a platform for historians\, 
	educators\, and policymakers to share experiences\, best practices\, and c
	hallenges in integrating decolonial frameworks into history education. It 
	intends to foster dialogue on curriculum reform to include plural voices\,
	 promote critical thinking\, and foster a more inclusive understanding of 
	history that reflects diverse cultural and historical contexts.
