Description
Amplifier: A History Podcast for Everyone is an Erasmus-funded collaboration between the Department of History Didactics at the University of Cologne and the association 'Orient Express' from Vienna. The project includes the development of the podcast LAUT, the first episode of which has now been released. Orient Express supports women with a history of migration and flight and offers, among other things, basic education courses. In the learning groups, group interviews were used to identify key issues that are of interest to the participating women and that shape their life stories or everyday lives. The team of history didactics was responsible for the background research of the podcast topics, such as the Nowruz festival or the history of language and writing. They also worked with trainee teachers from the University of Cologne in a seminar on creating historical podcasts and ran a workshop on plain language. Almost a year after work began on the project, the first episode was released on 21 March to coincide with Nowruz. Over the coming weeks, the next episodes will gradually be made available on Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/show/5z0bbwhjEuzDt84j9vXUcn?si=WelE0BCjTCOZ_9581ixxCQ).
