Description

The purpose of the meeting is to be informed with validity about what exactly happened during the turbulent period of the Regime of the Colonels and, above all, to reflect on what is the role of the citizen at the "dawn" of the 4th Industrial Revolution, what dangers lurk for the Democracy (among other things and from the manipulation of the M.M.E.) and what means are available to us to act/react to new, emerging forms of "juntas". Our goal is, instead of typical academic presentations, to discuss our present and future and to "hear" the thoughts, hopes and concerns of our -young and old- fellow citizens. In this effort, we will have the pleasure and honor of having two important personalities present as interlocutors: Dr. Telis Tympas, Professor of the History of Technology at the Department of History & Philosophy of Science of the University of Athens and Director of the Master's Program "Science, Technology, Society" and Mr. Dimitris Papachristos, author, columnist and radio producer, the "voice" of Uprising of the Polytechnic University in 1973. We will also be joined by fighters for Democracy who lived through the events of the Polytechnic University, as well as our fellow citizens who experienced the oppression of the Dictatorship. The debate will be moderated by the Spartan Historian, Mr. Nikolaos Ismirnioglou.
