Description

Teachers and educators can now apply to take part in the B-SHAPES Summer School: Landscape as Heritage, taking place in Zgorzelec/Görlitz from 22–24 August 2025. How do borders shape our landscapes and perceptions? During this three-day programme, we will explore this question through border walks, photography workshops, and lectures on oral history and landscape studies. Together, we will develop educational materials to help students across Europe engage with their surroundings in new and meaningful ways. We welcome applications from educators in history, sociology, political science, geography, art, and related fields, especially those with an interest in borderlands, international relations, heritage, and the environment. Applicants must be currently employed at a school or educational institution. This summer school is an educational project organized by ENRS as a component of the Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action project “B-SHAPES: Borders Shaping Perceptions of European Societies”, coordinated by the Centre of Border Region Studies at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU).
