To mark and commemorate the 80th anniversary of the deportation of Jews from Novi Sad and Bačka region to Auschwitz-Birkenau, Terraforming is organizing an event in Novi Sad on April 25. The visitors will be able to see the exhibition "Some Words about the Holocaust in Serbia," learn more about the development of the new online platform "ABC of Antisemitism," and the new educational graphic novel about the deportation of Jews of Bačka. Finally, there will be a public talk about Holocaust memory culture and contemporary antisemitism with an international group of panelists: - Mr. Andrew Percy MP (London, UK), a member of the UK Parliament House of Commons since 2010, Vice Chair at the All-Party Parliamentary Group Against Antisemitism, and Officer at the Holocaust Memorial APPG; - Josh Dubell (London, UK), Education Director, Solutions Not Sides - a foundation that provides humanizing encounters and critical-thinking tools to empower young people with the knowledge, empathy, and skills to promote dialogue and conflict resolution and challenge prejudice by bringing the voices of Palestinian and Israeli peace builders to British schools; - Mirna Herman (Zagreb, Croatia), Director of the Center for Memory Culture, facilitator at the Herman Family Trust on rebuilding the exhibition in the Yugoslav Pavillion in Block 17 at the Memorial and Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau; - Florian Eisheuer (Berlin, Germany), European Practitioners Network against Antisemitism (EPNA); - Mirko Štark (Novi Sad, Serbia), President of the Jewish Community of Novi Sad; - Miško Stanišić - moderator and host, Director of Terraforming, member of the Serbian delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA); The panel will discuss different aspects of contemporary antisemitism and how to exchange best practices and cooperate to address antisemitism in our societies and internationally. The event is funded by Claims Conference, EPNA network, and the City of Novi Sad.
