Experience

I have more than 25 years of experience in the field of History, Education, Science, and Cultural Heritage, including issues related to Communication and Project management. My educational background includes Habilitation and Ph.D. degrees in history and a BA in Law. During the last 20 years, I took part, as a visiting professor, in a series of international scholarship programs such as the Fulbright Program, Humboldt Foundation, DAAD, Swedish Institute, Open Society Institute, etc. My research and teaching are only a part of my reach and diverse activity connected with historical research and teaching, higher education reforms, school history curriculum development, cultural heritage preservation, and the development of civil society. I have worked on many international projects led by the Council of Europe, European Union, World Bank, UNICEF, UNESCO, ICOMOS, etc. As Dean of the Faculty of History and Geography of "Ion Creangă" Pedagogical State University, I participated in the development and implementation of the management and quality assurance systems of the educational and research process during 2012-2016. At the same time, I was a member of the commissions for the elaboration of the evaluation and accreditation reports of the Faculty of History and Geography (2016-2019). During the last two decades, I was a member of various commissions and working groups related to the history curriculum reform, history textbooks evaluation, history teachers training, etc. Over the past ten years, I have been an expert and evaluator with several organizations, foundations, and funding programs for research projects and study programs. Thus, between 2013 and 2018 I was a member of the College of the Expert Council of the Academy of Science of Moldova, since 2012 I have been an expert of the Executive Unit for Financing Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation in Romania, and since 2018 as an expert of the National Agency of Research / Development of Moldova.
