About us
The Institute for Research in Visual and Performing Arts Maribor is dedicated to exploring the creative learning process. As we believe that historical background is important to strengthen young people's critical thinking and understanding of their role in the world, we have focused on developing models and tools to facilitate the understanding and teaching of world history and its impact on current global relations. The aim of the project is to develop a range of tools to help young people understand and teach world history and its impact on current global relations. With students from a local primary school, we created a stop-motion digital animation, A TREE IN TIME, which, following the curriculum for the 7th grade of Slovenian primary school, highlights the role of humans in the deforestation of forests from prehistoric times to the Middle Ages. The animation, with an added environmental theme, is used in geography, history and ethics lessons. The project will also be submitted to the European Innovation Days in History Education in 2025. In collaboration with the University of Konya, we are developing an app for the game (The ) PAST; PAST means trap in Slovenian. The game currently exists as a regular board game for 6 players and contains reward and penalty boxes. The story is presented as a storytelling and is being integrated into cross-curricular links. We can say that we love history
