Description

The online-portal "People and Institutions" operated by the Archives of Rural History (ARH, Bern, Switzerland) is an open-access research resource for teachers, students, the general public as well as researchers. The portal contains information on about 11'000 people and approximately 700 institutions from the agricultural, environmental and food sector. In addition, most of the entries are linked to each other as well as to additional texts and film material, which is made available online by the ARH. These links not only reveal connections between institutions and individuals but they also make visible important fields of activity and professional and family networks.
