Description

Statues for Equality is a project by artists Gillie and Marc Schattner consisting of a database of statues and monuments dedicated to women around the world. Through this, they aim to achieve greater equality in public spaces by spotlighting the histories of women and their achievements, based on the understanding that public statues are reflections of societal values and can contribute to fostering diversity. Each database entry includes photographs of the statue and a text about the commemorated woman's life. The project also encourages global participation by asking the public to nominate women to be commemorated.
