Description
This publication is the culmination of a project that aimed to examine the historical events and developments in Europe from 1848 to 1989. The project focused on five key moments in European history: the revolutions of 1848, the Balkan wars of 1912-13, the peace conferences and restructuring of Europe in 1919, the aftermath of World War II in 1945, and the transformative events of 1989. With a specific emphasis on encouraging "multiperspectivity," the project invited historians to present different national perspectives on these pivotal events, fostering discussions that highlight the diversity of viewpoints and the complex historical narratives that have shaped contemporary European perspectives. This project underscores the significance of understanding these key historical contexts in comprehending the profound changes that unfolded in Europe during the late 20th century, particularly in central and eastern Europe after the collapse of communism in the USSR.
