Description
The results of a ten-year cooperation project confirmed the suitability of seminar and conference topics. The professional community has strengthened, enabling better handling of national, ethnic, and social aspects in education and society. The Russian Ministry of Education prioritized history teachers in the Chechen Republic, recognizing their importance in combating stereotypes and violence while fostering a new way of thinking. Collaboration among school history specialists from various regions aimed to balance teaching regional, national, and world history with multiperspectivity and promote intercultural dialogue through education. Ms. Tatiana Minkina-Milko from the Council of Europe noted the welcoming atmosphere at the Academy for Qualification Raising and In-service Teacher Training, contributing to productive work among participants. The success of the cooperation program was evident in the response of participants, seminar materials, and educational initiatives. The seminar aimed to discuss achieving balance in teaching regional, national, and world history, emphasizing dialogues to promote openness and diversity acceptance. It recognized the importance of information literacy, using students' experiences, fostering civic competencies, and modernizing pedagogical methods and technology use. History as a school subject provides an opportunity to develop critical thinking, historical analysis, awareness of political decision-making, and understanding the value of dialogue. Mr. Hussein Demyev expressed gratitude on behalf of the Ministry of Education in the Chechen Republic for the positive impact of the Council of Europe's cooperation program on education in the region.
