Description

A visit to a memorial site dedicated to the victims of the totalitarian regimes might be a challenging experience for students and can give rise to important questions for a teacher too: how can you prepare the students to enrich their learning process? How can you offer them a new perspective on history? We kindly invite you to participate in an online discussion between a history teacher and an educator from the Mauthausen Memorial on ‘Preparing students for a visit to a memorial site’, which will take place on 27 February at 4 pm (CET) via Zoom. The meeting will last 1.5 hours. During the webinar, we will also introduce an educational programme ‘Sound in the Silence’ – an international and interdisciplinary remembrance project for secondary school students and their teachers. The application for the programme is open to teachers from all European countries and the registration for the 2024 edition starts soon.
