About me

Born, and raised in Multan (Pakistan), currently, I am Assistant Professor (History /Human Rights). I have almost 20 years of professional experience focused on Human Rights, Education for Peace and Good Governance in the Development Sector (ActionAid International-Pakistan & ILEWASI-Spain), and Government of Pakistan; that also includes 6 years teaching History, Peace and Conflict Studies at various universities in Pakistan, United Kingdom and Spain. Academically, I have completed doctoral studies in History of Civil Resistance (The University of Warwick-UK); MA in Peace, Conflict, and Development Studies (University of Jaume-I, Spain, & European Peace University, Austria), & MSc in History (Quaid-i-Azam University, Pak.). I have published a couple of articles, and a chapter on peacebuilding, published by Cambridge University Press (India). I have been organizing International Summer School on Peace Education and Child's Rights since 2011 in Spain. Additionally, I am a trainer on Peacebuilding, CVE, social and religious tolerance, and nonviolent communication. I have done more than 20 trainings on the subjects to hundreds of universities' students, and teachers in Pakistan under the platform of several organizations. Similarly, I was one of the key members to develop a module on "Religious and Social Tolerance" for university students in Pakistan. Likewise, received numerous prestigious research awards such as WISCOMP Peace Award (Delhi), Leverhulme Trust fellowship (UK), Higher Education Commission of Pakistan PhD partial-award, Charles Wallace Trust (UK) Bursary, Awardee of Trans-Atlantic Fellowship, Humanities Research Center, University of Warwick, (United Kingdom), Overseas PhD bursary (United Kingdom) 2014, The Leche Trust (UK), , CISN (United Kingdom), international development scholarships from Valencia(Spain), Austrian Governments. Similarly, Participated in NATO, Council of Europe, EU and others forum on human rights.
