About us

Terraforming is an independent non-profit NGO based in Novi Sad in Serbia, founded in 2008, committed to strengthening memory culture, improving teaching and learning about the Holocaust, and combating contemporary antisemitism, antigypsyism, and other forms of prejudice and xenophobia. With 15 years of experience, Terraforming has gained international recognition and is widely regarded as one of the top organizations in its field in the Balkan region. Terraforming is one of the initiators of the annual "Remembering Hilda Dajč Award" for contribution to remembrance culture and youth activism in Serbia and founder of the Center for Combating Antisemitism and Intolerance - a coalition-building platform for developing national strategies and activities in Serbia for addressing and preventing antisemitism and fostering Jewish life following the EU strategy. Terraforming has been honored with the Yehuda Bauer Grant by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) for its project "International Library Platform for Holocaust Education." In cooperation with ODIHR, the Anne Frank House, and the Serbian ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs, Terraforming led the work on creating the Teaching material to Combat Antisemitism. This three-book package is the primary resource in Serbian schools for teaching about antisemitism. Terraforming is a proud member of the European Network Countering Antisemitism Through Education ENCATE, the European Association of History Educators EuroClio, and the US-based Association of Holocaust Organizations AHO.
